After revamping its SUV lineup with the all-new facelifted versions of the Nexon, Harrier, and Safari, Tata Motors seems poised to make its next big foray into the SUV category with the Curvv. Showcased at the Auto Expo earlier this year, the Tata Curvv coupe-SUV was recently spotted in a fully camouflaged form on a public road during the late hours of the day. This marks the second sighting of the test mule of the Tata Curvv, which was earlier spotted in a parking lot a few days ago.

Similar to the previous sighting, the rear profile of the Tata Curvv coupe-SUV was heavily covered with additional wraps over the sloping rear windscreen. However, the overall look of the test mule confirms that the production version of the Curvv will retain its unique coupe-SUV appearance. While the test mule was wrapped in camouflage all around, it reveals a few styling highlights that are expected in the production model.

First and foremost, the Tata Curvv (which will receive a new name when it is launched) will adopt the new front fascia theme, including a long LED connecting bar between daytime running LEDs above its sleek-looking grille, much like in the refreshed Nexon, Harrier, and Safari. Like the newer versions of Tata’s existing SUVs, the Curvv will feature split headlamp assemblies with LED projectors. In its electric version, the Curvv will have a blanked-off grille, similar to the new Nexon EV.
Production-ready Tata Curvv
The test mule of the Tata Curvv also shows that it has a different set of alloy wheels compared to concept that was showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. The test mule also suggests that the Curvv will have flush-type door handles, a high-running window line, and a sloping roofline at the rear. The rear profile is also expected to feature slimmer LED tail lamps with a connecting light bar running between them. The Curvv is expected to come equipped with a new 10.25-inch full-TFT instrument console, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a touch-controlled panel for auto AC, standard six airbags, and a panoramic sunroof.
The Tata Curvv is expected to be powered by the Nexon’s 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine and 1.5-liter diesel engine as standard across its lineup. However, there are rumors that it will also offer the carmaker’s new-generation 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine as an option in higher-spec variants. The all-electric Curvv will be based on Tata’s Gen 2 platform and is expected to feature the Nexon Long Range’s battery and motor setup.
The production model of the Tata Curvv is expected to arrive in the first half of 2024 and will compete with vehicles such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, and Citroen C3 Aircross. Meanwhile, the Tata Curvv EV will rival electric models like the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona EV.
