Cross-country road trips are slowly gaining popularity in India. Many people are also planning to embark on international trips in their cars. A few years ago, we had a German couple visit India in their Mercedes-Benz 4×4 truck. After that, we observed many foreigners and Indians settled abroad doing the same thing. Now, we have a young Indian who drove all the way from Canada to India in his Range Rover Velar luxury SUV. During this trip, he covered almost 27 countries and drove the car for almost 38,000 km. In this video, the owner shares his experience about the trip.
The video has been uploaded by Her Garage on her YouTube channel. In this video, the presenter talks to Rahul, who drove his Range Rover Velar luxury SUV all the way from Canada. The vlogger starts by asking about the journey. Rahul explains that he started his journey from Toronto and then explored Canada. After exploring Canada, they entered the USA and reached New York. From New York, he drove the car to Halifax, and from there, the car was shipped to Liverpool, United Kingdom. They explored Scotland, Wales, and England.

He then took the Euro tunnel to France and explored various regions. Rahul skipped Norway, Sweden, and Finland as he is planning to drive through these countries on his way back to Canada. From there, he entered Turkey and crossed the border to Iran, reaching Pakistan. From Pakistan, he drove the car to India. The owner was actually happy about the overall trip. He mentions that he did an oil change on his SUV twice during this trip. The Range Rover Velar proved to be extremely reliable, and he did not face any issues with the vehicle. He says that he doesn’t like Toyota because he finds it a bit boring compared to his Range Rover.
The owner can be heard saying that he did not face many challenges on this journey. The only time he faced an issue was in Iran, where he had to search for cards to fill petrol in his car. In Pakistan, he could not find high-octane fuel pumps, which resulted in poor performance at some stretches. He also mentioned that he filled the most expensive petrol in Switzerland, and they also had the most expensive tolls. The cheapest place where he filled petrol was Iran. It was so cheap that in some places, the locals let him fill a full tank of fuel for free.
While driving to India, he had all his paperwork cleared. The car is here on Carnet, and the version he is driving uses a 3.0-liter V6 supercharged engine. He bought the car for around Rs 66 lakh INR in Canada. This is cheap when compared to what you have to pay for one of these here. He was stopped by cops a couple of times, but they let him go after checking his driver’s license. He does not mention the overall amount that he has spent on fuel during this trip because the prices were fluctuating.
