The Golden State Warriors have a dynasty on their hands on the brink of breaking up. All of their key players are aging and into the final years of their prime. However, the best player on the team is not giving in to the narrative. Stephen Curry sends a bold message to the Warriors to put them on notice before the NBA season.
To ensure a quality start in a loaded Western Conference landscape, Curry wants everyone on the same page heading into the new NBA season. The four-time NBA champion tells the team always to be prepared.
“The one thing we can control right now is our collective focus and intentions on how we’re going to play,” Curry said. “The game itself will tell you what needs to happen. We can have the perfect plan, get thrown a curveball…and you have to be able to adjust on the fly. As long as we’re connected on trying to elevate each other, that has to be the intention for everything.
“The rest will take care of itself. I like how we’ve been communicating, the biggest thing for him is to continue to be who he has been his whole career. He’s elevated every team he’s been on. If we bring our ego and collective competitiveness and understand there needs to be sacrifice from everybody, we give ourselves the best chance to be successful.”

Curry is concerned about how the team will communicate throughout the year. From watching the Warriors play, you would not think that would be the main issue. The array of plays stems from excellent chemistry between their top players.
However, Curry is clarifying that it needs to trickle down to the rest of the roster, not just the starters. At age 35, he is not showing any signs of slowing down. He averaged 29.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 6.3 assists last season. The rebounding output is the most in his career.

Adding Chris Paul, though, could remove the pressure to handle the ball. He allows Curry to focus on his scoring output without creating for the rest of the team.
