The classic animated Disney princess movie is a retelling of the 1697 fairy tale of the same name about a young orphan who lives with her wicked stepmother and falls in love with the Prince thanks to the help of her Fairy Godmother. When Cinderella premiered in 1950, it was only the second princess movie released by Disney after their original 1937 hit Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Both titles are now part of a tradition that includes 14 movies such as Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, and Frozen.
