El neerlandés Max Verstappen con Red Bull, ya coronado tricampeón del mundo de Fórmula Uno hace dos semanas, en Qatar, prolongó su sobresaliente racha al ganar este domingo el Gran Premio de los Estados Unidos, en el Circuito de las Américas de Austin en Texas, donde firmó su quincuagésima victoria en la categoría reina; igualando su propio récord de victorias en una misma temporada: quince.
Verstappen, de 26 años, ganó por delante de los ingleses Lewis Hamilton con Mercedes Benz y Lando Norris con McLaren, segundo y tercero, respectivamente, este domingo en el citado circuito tejano.
Fue una carrera que el español Carlos Sainz con Ferrari acabó cuarto, un puesto por delante del mexicano Sergio Pérez, compañero del nuevo monarca de la categoría reina.
El otro español, Fernando Alonso con Aston Martin, que había salido del ‘pit lane’ y estaba efectuando una gran remontada, tuvo que abandonar, por un problema en el fondo plano, a falta de cinco de las 56 vueltas que se dieron al circuito texano.
