Tata and Mahindra are currently two manufacturers that offer a slew of five-star rated cars in India. Here is an accident between Mahindra’s zero star-rated Scorpio Classic and the Tata Harrier, which recently received five stars but remained untested before the facelift version came to the market.
Here is an accident between the Harrier and the Scorpio Classic that shows the strong build quality of both the vehicles. The accident happened in Assam caused by a speeding Tata Harrier. According to the reports, the Tata Harrier t-boned the Scorpio Classic.

The impact of the crash caused the Scorpio Classic to roll multiple times and fall into a gorge. Even though both the vehicles have sustained some massive damages, none of the damages filtered inside the cabin. The passengers of both the vehicles came out safely without any injuries. However, both the cars will definitely require some extensive repairs.
The video show that the airbags of the Tata Harrier worked perfectly. There were no side airbags on the Scorpio Classic and that is why we cannot see any open airbags inside the vehicle.
While we are not exactly sure how the accident happened, it is highly likely due to over speeding.
Tata Harrier recently received five-stars
Even though Tata Motors did not test the previous version of the Harrier, the facelift model gets a full five-star Global NCAP rating.
The new Tata Harrier and Safari have earned an impressive 5-star rating, with a score of 33.05 out of 34 points for adult occupant protection. In the tests, both vehicles demonstrated excellent protection for both the driver and passenger’s head and neck. The evaluations also found that the chest protection for both the driver and passenger was sufficient.
During the side impact test with a deformable barrier, the Harrier and Safari facelifts exhibited exceptional protection for the head, chest, abdomen, and pelvis, as reported by the global vehicle safety watchdog. It’s noteworthy that these SUVs come equipped with curtain airbags as standard, meeting fitment requirements and providing excellent protection for the head and pelvis. They also offer marginal protection for the chest and adequate protection for the abdomen in side pole impact tests.
The robust bodyshell of both SUVs was deemed “stable” and capable of withstanding additional loadings, underscoring their structural integrity and safety performance.
Remarkably, the Harrier and Safari facelifts achieved a perfect 5-star rating in child occupant protection tests, amassing 45 out of 49 points. This outstanding performance includes a flawless 12 out of 12 for the CRS (child restraint system) installation and a maximum dynamic score of 24.
