The Chattanooga Motorcar Festival Offers Three Days Of Automotive Excellence

There is no shortage of car events, scattered all over the United States, but a relatively new event is making waves due to its unique format, location and incredible collection of cars. It’s called the Chattanooga Motorcar Festival, and it combines multiple car show events, a classic car auction and grand prix racing in one all-inclusive event. The event kicked off in 2019 and has grown each year, with a goal of raising money to support neuroscience research through the Fifty Plus Foundation.

The 4th Annual Chattanooga Motorcar Festival kicked off on Friday with the Conossa Fall Rally, giving participants a great view of twisty Tennessee and North Carolina back roads. Friday also kicked off the Pace Grand Prix at the Bend, featuring Brian Redman’s Targa Sixty Six. The special road course is constructed along the Tennessee River in an industrial area, making for an exciting time for racers and spectators. Racing continued all day Friday and Saturday, with several classes, including the Ragtime Racers who wheeled 1920 and earlier open-wheel cars around the challenging course. Drifting exhibitions were performed periodically by Adam LZ. Friday also featured a Car Club Gathering in the West Village, a beautiful downtown area that ties into the Westin, the event’s host hotel. Mecum Auctions hosts a two-day auction at the Chattanooga Convention Center to add even more wow factor to this epic weekend.

Saturday started with a special event called V8’s in the Village, presented by Coker Tire and Zip Corvette Parts. The event featured a great collection of Corvettes of all generations. In addition to the Corvette show, the West Village also featured two very special feature areas: Gathering of the Greats, Porsche Edition and the J. Willard Marriott Ferrari Club display. These two displays featured some of the most incredible sports car and race cars in the world. Saturday also saw a special feature area where cars from the Great Race provide rides around downtown Chattanooga. Cars from the 1930’s through the 1970’s were available for ride-alongs, and it kept folks smiling all day long.

The final act of the Chattanooga Motorcar Festival is the Concours d’Elegance on Sunday. The streets of West Village are filled with elegant sports cars, classic cars and historic race cars, and spectators enjoy an up-close look at these automotive marvels. Other special attractions included automotive celebrity panel discussions throughout the weekend and a highly anticipated B-52’s concert on Friday night. With three days of activities, the Chattanooga Motorcar Festival is an incredible experience that always lands on the second weekend of October.
