Since its introduction to the Indian car market, the Toyota Innova Hycross has shattered records and climbed to the top of the sales charts, despite its status as a niche petrol-electric hybrid MPV in its price range. Most Toyota Innova Hycross owners have chosen it for the trademark Toyota reliability and the array of premium features it offers. While there are only a few owners who have decided to modify their Innova Hycross, we’ve come across a unique customization that transforms this vehicle’s front end to resemble the mighty Toyota Alphard MPV.

A video showcasing this customization was shared on Instagram by a user named “Gaurav_7827.” It features a silver-colored Toyota Innova Hycross with a front end makeover that gives it the appearance of the Toyota Alphard, a premium flagship MPV from Toyota available overseas. The Alphard is a bolder and more upscale version of the Toyota Vellfire, which is already on sale in India.
The modified front profile of the Toyota Innova Hycross underwent a substantial transformation inspired by the Toyota Alphard’s grille. It now boasts dark chrome vertical slats and segmented horizontal slats, including a dedicated V-shaped chrome housing in the upper central part. The front bumper has also seen significant changes, featuring substantial C-shaped chrome inserts surrounding the LED fog lamps, along with integrated LED turn indicators with dynamic lighting patterns. Even the surrounds of the stock all-LED headlamps have been adorned with chrome.

The rear profile of this modified Toyota Innova Hycross remains largely unaltered and hasn’t undergone the same dramatic transformation as the front end. However, the MPV has been enhanced with numerous chrome elements, including chrome tail lamp surrounds, a thick chrome bar between the tail lamps, chrome accents for the faux exhaust ports, and additional chrome slats on the boot lid and rear bumper.
The side profile of this Innova Hycross retains its original appearance, including the stock 18-inch alloy wheels and chrome-finished door handles. With all the modifications, this Toyota Innova Hycross exudes a bold and aggressive look. While some are impressed with the premium aesthetics and the heavy use of chrome, others have criticized it, suggesting that the modification appears overly ostentatious and unnecessary.
The Toyota Innova Hycross offers two powertrain options, including a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 2.0-liter petrol-electric hybrid engine. The hybrid variant, in particular, has witnessed tremendous demand, resulting in extended waiting periods for interested buyers.
