This first premiered last year at the 2022 Deauville Film Festival in France, and is opening in US cinemas this fall if anyone is interested in watching. At The Gates is a movie about A Salvadoran housekeeper and her teenage son begin to question whether they’re being protected or imprisoned after an affluent couple offers to hide them from immigration officers in their basement. As days go by under the same roof in this sprawling home, each family begins to question the other’s true intentions in this riveting and emotional thriller.
