Honda has diverse lineup on display at the Japan Mobility Show 2023, featuring a smorgasbord of vehicles, from cars and bikes to robots and even an aircraft. Stealing the spotlight is the reborn Prelude, now a production-intent concept sports car.
But that’s not all – Honda has a few more tricks up its sleeve, including the Sustaina-C Concept, a sustainable small hatchback crafted from recycled materials, and the CI-MEV, a heavy quadricycle primed for autonomous adventures.

The Honda Sustaina-C concept
The new Sustaina-C concept looks like a boxier evolution of the Honda e, featuring a sustainable body made of recycled acrylic resin. The same material was used for the Pocket Concept, a compact electric two-wheeler with futuristic styling. On the other hand, the more production-ready SC e: Concept is an electric scooter for urban environments, featuring the swappable Honda Mobile Power Pack e: so that the user doesn’t need to wait for charging.
Back to four-wheelers, the Honda CI-MEV is a fully electric urban two-seater concept combining “Cooperative Intelligence” and autonomous technology as a last-mile solution for people with a limited range of movement. The concept looks like a possible competitor to microcars and heavy quadricycles, although it is not clear if Honda is considering putting it into production. The same applies to a mysterious prototype of a light commercial EV that wasn’t included in the preview images. On a similar note, the Honda Autonomous Work Vehicle is an experimental platform with different kinds of attachments.
The Honda CI-MEV urban electric vehicle concept
Exhibits are not limited to two-wheeler and four-wheeler concepts, as the company is also showcasing an interior mockup of the HondaJet Elite II small business jet, an exterior scale model of the Honda eVTOL aircraft, a gas turbine hybrid system that is under development, an “alter-ego” robot called Avatar, the Uni-One seated mobility device using balance control, the Power Exporter e: 6000 portable external power supply device, and other electric products using the swappable Honda Mobile Power Pack e:.
Last but not least, Honda invites people to create their own “dream project” using AI on a dedicated website. The resulting drawings will be displayed on LED screens at the show alongside Honda’s own projects, while visitors will be able to take them home in the form of a card.
