The new Tesla Model 3 is going to come with some new interior features not available on other models. The findings come after a deep dive into the code by a noted Tesla hacker. Both the normal and Sport versions of the Model 3 also get a new safety feature for rear-seat passengers.
X (formerly known as Twitter) user and hacker ‘GreenTheOnly’ just found new details about the facelifted Tesla Model 3. Just as we’ve seen in the current generation, it’ll come in multiple trim levels including Base and Sport. Whether or not it ends up being called Performance to fall in line with the rest of the family is still unclear.
What seems sure though is that the Sport version will get new sport-oriented seats with thicker lateral bolstering. It’ll also have a unique rear bench seat with only two headrests instead of three. It’s tough to tell with the photos that Green uncovered but it appears as though even the rear seats get a bit more bolstering.

That’s a small but important touch on any serious performance vehicle and it’s nice to see Tesla adding them. Interestingly, it appears as though Tesla is also going to include some new suspension bits as well. Green says that an adjustable suspension is likely coming too and at the very least he expects adjustable dampers to be part of the car.
Finally, both the normal and sport versions of the Model 3 are getting an updated manual door release for the back seats. The front seats will still have the same “pull-up-to-release” handle just ahead of the window switches. The rear seats now get a small panel in the door card storage area that pops out to reveal a manual release pull cord.
That’ll be a nice addition as well since the current generation of the Model 3 doesn’t really have an easily accessible rear-door release should the battery die. It’s been an issue in the past and hopefully, this move will help to solve that problem.
