While Milne and Disney had exclusively held the rights to Pooh for years, all the Winnie-the-Pooh characters entered the public domain in 2022, allowing Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey to be made. While the slasher movie was panned by critics, it was a commercial success, netting a sequel order.
