Akok Akok, the former UConn player who collapsed on the court Friday night, has been been released from the hospital and is recovering at home, according to the University of West Virginia, which updated his condition Sunday morning.
“Akok Akok is recovering at his home in Morgantown (Wva.). He will continue to be monitored and evaluated by our medical team,” the school released via its X account.

Akok, 24, who played for Putnam Science and then three seasons at UConn, transferred to Georgetown last season, and to West Virginia in August. During an exhibition game against George Mason, he collapsed during a time out and appeared disoriented as he tried to get up. He was taken to a nearby hospital, found to be responsive and in good spirits. Listed as stable, the 6-foot-10 Akok was kept overnight and released on Saturday, telling Rivals Nation he was “feeling well,”
The nature of Akok’s condition has not been disclosed.
