An adaptation of Scott Cawthon's horror video game franchise about possessed murderous animatronics has been in the works for nearly a decade, having finally made its way to the screen with the creator onboard as a co-writer and producer and Blumhouse financing the project. Though garnering negative reviews from critics, Five Nights at Freddy's is already a box office hit in its opening weekend with an impressive 89% approval rating from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.
