Peter Capaldi's second full season as the Twelfth Doctor saw him face the Daleks on a revived Skaro, search for Gallifrey, and face a prophecy for telling the coming of a powerful being. Picking up threads established in 2013's 50th-anniversary special "The Day of the Doctor", "The Zygon Invasion/The Zygon Inversion" had the Doctor not knowing who to trust when a rogue faction of Zygon threatens war breaking out on Earth between humanity and the disguised Zygon population.
