Car owners generally bring their vehicles to the annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas to put them on display for attendees to enjoy. Unfortunately for the owners of two separate Nissan GT-Rs, their events ended prematurely due to unexpected fires.
The first incident in question involved a red Nissan GT-R that was filmed out on city streets when suddenly, the driver pulled over after noticing smoke pouring out from the rear end. He and his passengers quickly jump out of the car and for the next 30 seconds or so, the driver can be seen frantically jumping out, presumably looking for a fire extinguisher to try and put out the flames.

A police officer quickly arrives on the scene with an extinguisher and the driver puts it to use, spraying it around the area of the exhaust. A second officer also had an extinguisher and offered it up to the driver. Before long, a third extinguisher was being used to help douse the flames. Fortunately for the owner, the flames were put out before they could engulf the entire car.
It’s impossible to say for sure what triggered the blaze but there’s a good chance some of the modifications done to it are to blame.
The second incident involved a nearby white Nissan GT-R that has also been modified comprehensively. This GT-R is equipped with a wide body kit from famed Japanese tuner Liberty Walk and the fire impacting it also started at the rear. Just like the first blaze, nearby bystanders emptied a couple of fire extinguishers throughout the rear of the Nissan to douse the flames. As with the red GT-R blaze, there’s a good chance this second fire started around the area of the exhaust, which appears to be an aftermarket unit.
