One of the main things that an adventure motorcycle should be able to do is to be protected from impacts during mishaps while riding. So, in order to show its ability to take such impacts, recently Royal Enfield’s head of strategy shared a few pictures of the all-new Himalayan 452 after a fall. The pictures show that the new bike, despite having a very impactful slide on rough terrain, still had no heavy damages, showcasing the toughness of the new Himalayan 452.

The pictures of the new Himalayan 452’s tough test have been shared on Instagram by Mark Wells on his official page. Mark Wells is the Chief of Design and Strategy at Royal Enfield. Over the last few weeks, he has shared some amazing insights into the new Himalayan 452 and other Royal Enfield motorcycles. In this most recent set of pictures, he mentions that the rider Ed Cobb showed the media that despite falling after a slide on the very rough terrain of Chhatru Valley, the new Himalayan 452 managed to get picked up unscathed.
What protects the new Himalayan 452?
Now, although the head of strategy and design has not shared how exactly the bike managed to do this, we can understand that it has more to do with the design of the new external tubular steel guard and the shape of the fuel tank. Just like the old Himalayan, the new Himalayan 452 has been designed to take such impacts effortlessly with optimal protection in the places that are prone to damages during such mishaps. In these pictures, we can note that the fuel tank and the engine were all protected by the steel trellis frame and tubular cage.

All-new Royal Enfield Himalayan 452
For those who are still not aware, the Chennai-based bikemaker recently launched the all-new Himalayan 452 adventure motorcycle. The new bike is the successor to the immensely popular Himalayan 411 motorcycle. The company has designed the new Himalayan 452 from scratch and has provided it with a ton of new features and design characteristics to improve its rough terrain riding capabilities.
The bike now gets a brand-new steel trellis frame which is more compact and strong and efficiently packs the new motor. It also gets a newer and bigger sculpted fuel tank which can now store much more fuel. This time around the bike also gets upside-down USD forks at the front and monoshock suspension at the rear. It also gets a new circular TFT display screen on the front which provides the rider with a ton of features of connectivity along with vehicle telematics. It also gets new all-LED lights in the front and the rear along with all the indicators.
Powering the new Himalayan 452 is Royal Enfield’s first-ever liquid-cooled engine. This all-new engine has been named the Sherpa 452, and it produces around 40 bhp of power and 40 Nm of torque. Apart from this, the bike also gets a new six-speed transmission. The unloaded weight of the new Himalayan 452 is 196 kg.
