After the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Utah Jazz on November 21, LeBron James was told by a reporter that he’s older than Jazz head coach Will Hardy.
LeBron, who is the first player in NBA history to score 39,000 career points, had a hilarious reaction:
LeBron is 38, while Hardy is 35. The King has been in the NBA since 2003 and is showing no signs of slowing down despite being the oldest player in the league. LeBron is averaging 25.7 points, 8.1 rebounds and 6.6 assists for the Lakers this season.

The Lakers improved to 9-6 after beating the Jazz. LeBron only had to play 24 minutes since Los Angeles blew out Utah by a final score of 131-99. The Akron Hammer finished with 17 points, seven rebounds and nine assists while shooting 6-of-10 from the field, 3-of-5 from beyond the arc and 2-of-2 from the free-throw line.
LeBron, who became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer last season, was asked by a reporter about becoming the only player to reach 39,000 career points.
“I got congratulated by my teammates and coaches,” LeBron said. “I haven’t had an opportunity to really wrap my head around what that means. “There’s been so many great players that came across this league since the beginning of time and so many great scorers. To be able to accomplish something that’s the first of anything, I think that’s always pretty cool. It’s a wild moment, that’s for sure.”
