Maruti Suzuki Celerio
Another one of the popular hatchbacks in India is the Maruti Suzuki Celerio. The company consistently sells around 3,500-4,000 units of this hatchback every month. Now with a price tag of Rs 5.83, the Celerio VXI is around Rs 34,000 more expensive than the Renault Kiger base variant, which is priced at Rs 5.49 lakh. So it makes a lot more sense to go for the Kiger as it’s a much larger vehicle and offers better road presence.
Hyundai Grand i10 Nios
The Renault Kiger base variant is also cheaper than Hyundai’s popular hatchback Grand i10 Nios. The Grand i10 Nios currently starts at Rs 5.83 lakh and goes up to Rs 8.51 lakh. The Kiger, as mentioned, starts at Rs 5.49 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki WagonR
One of the country’s most popular choices when it comes to affordable hatchbacks is the Maruti WagonR. Currently, the WagonR starts at Rs 5.54 lakh, and the Kiger, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 5.49 lakh. The WagonR, although a bigger hatchback than a lot of other cars in this list, is still smaller than the Kiger.
Maruti Suzuki Swift
The Maruti Suzuki Swift needs no introduction as it is currently the most popular and highest-selling hatchback in India. Currently, even the base variant of this hatchback starts at Rs 5.99 lakh, which is Rs 50,000 more expensive than the much bigger and better Kiger. The Swift’s top-of-the-line variant goes all the way up to Rs 9.03 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno
The last vehicle on this list is the premium hatchback offering Baleno from Maruti Suzuki India Limited. This hatchback starts with a price tag of Rs 6.61 and goes all the way up to Rs 9.88 lakh. When the base variants of these cars are compared, the Baleno is around Rs 1.12 lakh more expensive.
Renault Kiger
The Renault Kiger sub-compact SUV comes available with a single petrol engine option. It is a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder engine that makes a maximum of 98 bhp of power and 152 Nm of torque. It comes with a manual as well as an automatic transmission option. The company claims that this small yet efficient drivetrain offers an 18 kmpl mileage on the highways and 14 kmpl in city driving conditions.
