One NBA analyst believes the Golden State Warriors should target Toronto Raptors star Pascal Siakam.
Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report thinks Siakam would help the Warriors on both ends of the floor.
“He contributes at both ends, offering both the defensive versatility the Dubs have favored and the ability to finish scoring plays or create them for himself,” Buckley wrote. “He also feels less than off-limits for the Raptors, whose choppy start could finally convince them it’s time to reset the roster around Scottie Barnes.”

Siakam is averaging 19.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 5.1 assists this season while shooting 49.3% from the field, 23.6% from beyond the arc and 70.5% from the free-throw line.
Siakam has one year left on his contract and the Raptors have not offered him an extension yet. Siakam could be traded before the February 2024 trade deadline and the Warriors have been linked to the NBA champion before.
The Warriors are only 7-8 on the season. Stephen Curry needs more help on offense, which is why Buckley believes Golden State’s front office should try to acquire Siakam, who has career averages of 17.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists.
The Warriors could trade Chris Paul, Jonathan Kuminga, Brandin Podziemski and a 2027 first-round pick to the Raptors for Siakam, who won the 2019 championship over Golden State. The Warriors could start Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, Siakam and Draymond Green if Golden State’s front office figured out a way to acquire Siakam from Toronto.

Several NBA teams have shown interest in pursuing Siakam via trade over the past five months, but the external market has been tempered a bit due to the fact that it’s been made clear Siakam would not extend with a team that trades for him.
