Black Friday is here and you can save 25% Off your order at Experiment Beauty!
Like Experiment Super Saturated Barrier Support Concentrate it has one major problem. It’s TOO SMALL! I need this two items to come in bigger sizes as I never want to be without them. They are superstars in the skincare world.
I purchased two bottles of Experiment Buffer Jelly Barrier Boosting Oil-Gel when it launched back in April I believe it was. Best purchase I ever made. I’m seriously impressed with what
Experiment cooks up in their labs and you can’t tell me these won’t become stables in your routine if you have drier skin or just damages skin from over exfoliation (chemical or physical). At 10AM today Experiment will finally restock their Super Saturated Barrier Support Concentrate and apparently they will be doing some bundles. Hopefully one that includes both the concentrate and Buffer Jelly. They were very nice to offer up a coupon code to readers of Musings of a Muse which is THEMUSE10 for 10% off your order. BUT WAIT…! Don’t use that code! Black Friday is here and you can save 25% Off your entire order!
On to the review of Buffer Jelly…
Buffer Jelly comes in a 1 oz squeeze tube and is packed full of amazing ingredients. It contains 3% petrolatum which acts to lock in moisture making this an ideal last step in your skincare. It also contains Ceramide NP, Fatty Free Acids, and Acai Sterols which help to repair the skin’s barrier. And of course we got plenty of oils here like jojoba, squalane, and safflower. Let’s just say this a cocktail of awesome stuff to repair, sooth, soften, and aid in keeping moisture locked into your skin.

As I mentioned above this comes in a squeeze tube which I’m still sort of learning to use. I feel like sometimes I squeeze a little too much out (which I’m not complaining about because if I could bath in this stuff I would). That’s about my only small rant about this product.
This has a gel-like consistency but almost immediately upon application it switches to an oil. It’s a pretty magical and innovative formula. It absorbs easily, isn’t overly greasy or oily, and leaves skin super hydrated. I tend to use it in the evening after I’ve applied all my lotions and potions as the final step in my routine to seal my products in. But I’ll readily admit, I have used it on its own or even in the morning as a moisturizer of sorts (it depends of my skin is demanding moisture or not). It’s beautifully formulated and drenches my skin is moisture. Since I started using it I can see a major change in my skin. My complexion looks brighter (I tend to look duller when my skin is dry), my makeup applies more easily without clinging to drier area, and my skin feels smoother.

I don’t abuse acids nor do I over exfoliate (I learned a long time ago doing exfoliating too much is bad for dry skin) so I can’t speak for barrier repair. But I’m pretty sure with this ingredient list it should do the trick at soothing and repairing a damaged barrier.
If your skin is dry, dehydrated, or dull I can’t recommend Experiment Buffer Jelly Barrier Boosting Oil-Gel enough. This stuff is amazing. I’m really excited to see what Experiment does next but right now the two products they do have are the gold standard of skincare. These are too holy grail items for me and will remain in my routine. I can’t get enough of them.
I hope you give them a try! Or if you have already do share your thoughts on them. Experiment Buffer Jelly Barrier Boosting Oil-Gel is available now and at 10AM Super Saturated Barrier Support Concentrate restocks. Grab both! Trust me!
