MG Motor India was recently spotted testing the facelifted version of its flagship Gloster SUV in India. The test model was heavily camouflaged, obscuring most of the expected changes to the body panels.
The current version of the Gloster has been available in India since 2020 and has received a few updates to its exterior and features. However, a proper facelift is expected for the model next year.
From the image, it can be seen that the three-row SUV will feature a redesigned rear profile, including a new bumper, taillights, and repositioned reflectors. Other visible elements include a roof spoiler with an integrated high-mounted stop lamp, rear wiper with washer, dual exhaust tip, side steps, diamond-cut alloy wheels, and door-mounted ORVMs. However, the test model does not have roof rails, which are present in the current version as standard.
Updated performance
In terms of mechanics, the MG Gloster facelift is likely to have an upgraded powertrain for improved performance. The current version offers two engine options: a 2.0-litre turbo diesel and a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine, both paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The MG Gloster facelift is expected to be launched in 2024. Once available, it will continue to compete with the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, and Skoda Kodiaq in the full-size SUV segment.
The Gloster will continues to offer a range of high-end features that enhance the driving experience. These include a 64-colour ambient lighting option, a three-zone climate control system, a panoramic sunroof, a driver seat massager, and many other features.
The fully loaded version of the Gloster offers a plethora of features for a luxurious experience. These include a 12-way powered driver’s seat, 8-way powered co-driver’s seat, panoramic sunroof, full-TFT instrument console, ventilated front seats, and a wireless charger. Additionally, it comes equipped with an ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) package as standard, providing advanced safety features. This package includes six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree parking camera, ensuring a safe and convenient driving experience.

Additionally, the premium SUV comes with an innovative ownership package called MY MG Shield. This industry-first package has redefined the car ownership experience by providing customers with flexible after-sales solutions. With MY MG Shield, customers have the option to customize additional services and maintenance packages from a selection of over 200 choices. The standard 3-3-3 package of MY MG Shield includes a warranty of three years or 100,000 kilometers, three years of roadside assistance, and three labor-free periodic services. This package ensures peace of mind and convenience for Gloster owners.
