Recently, an owner of one such EV shared his experience of buying the brand new Tata Nexon EV facelift. The owner shares his candid experience of owning this brand-new electric sub-compact SUV. He goes over all of the good and the bad things about the new 2023 Nexon EV facelift, and the video of it has been shared online.
Ownership experience of the Nexon EV facelift
The video of the Tata Nexon EV facelift ownership experience has been shared on YouTube by King Indian on their channel. It starts with the presenter asking the owner as to why he chose to buy the new Nexon EV facelift. To this, he replies that he currently has a daily running of around 80-100 kms, and after his research, he found out that EV is the best option for him. The presenter then asked about the charging situation, to which he replied that he has a fast charger at his home.
Cost of charging
After the presenter asked if this vehicle is the primary vehicle, if it is, then how does he plan long trips. To this, the owner answers that he only has to go till Shimla to meet his sister, and the charging infrastructure on that highway is excellent. Apart from this, he added it as his primary car, and prior to this, he had a Hyundai Verna diesel. The presenter also asked about the cost of driving this SUV; to this, he replied that the car utilizes 30 units of electricity.
He added that as he lives in Gurgaon and the price per unit is Rs 8. So a full charge, which takes around 30-45 mins, only costs him Rs 240. Apart from this, he mentions that the car in economy driving mode offers a range of around 350 km and when driven aggressively offers around 300 km. He added that the sports mode on this SUV is very powerful, so he rarely uses it. The presenter then asked about the time that will take to recover the Rs 20 lakh investment cost; to this, the owner replied that according to his calculation, he will recoup the money in around 3 years.
Minor inconveniences
The presenter and the owner talk about the exterior of the car as well. The owner, while showing the rear profile of the car, mentions that although the camera is very good, the company offers only two reverse parking sensors. He added that the company could have offered four parking sensors in the rear to enhance the experience.
Thoughts on the interior
Following this, the presenter and the owner talk about the interior of the car. The presenter first sits in the driving seat, talks about the paddles on the new two-spoke steering wheel. The owner then adds that these are used for regenerative braking, and he mentions that it can be felt that the car brakes very hard with the engine regen. He added that the company has claimed that the brake pads will last around 60,000 km.
Next up, the owner and the presenter then start the drive of the car and talk about the interior and other things that the owner likes and dislikes about it. The first thing the owner mentions that overall he would rate the interior of the car 9/10. He added the car could have come with proper cup holders, ADAS, powered driver seat, rear interior lights, and a few other small things. He added that there are a lot of people who have complained about the glitches in the touchscreen and the digital instrument gauge cluster; however, so far, he has not faced any problem because of the software update.
