Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Anthony Edwards made the All-Star team last season, but he recently admitted that he doesn’t count it as a true selection since he was named as a replacement All-Star.
All signs point toward Edwards being a starter in the All-Star Game this season. The Timberwolves have the best record in the NBA and Edwards is averaging 26.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5.0 assists while shooting 46.4% from the field, 37.7% from beyond the arc and 86.4% from the free-throw line.

One NBA scout told Michael Scotto of HoopsHype that he believes Edwards is a top-10 player in the league. By the end of the season, Edwards could be a top-five player.
“Anthony Edwards is a top-10 player in the NBA right now,” an NBA scout told HoopsHype. “He’s the real deal and plays both sides of the ball. Minnesota has two top-10 NBA defenders: Rudy Gobert, with his rim protection, and Jaden McDaniels, one of the best defenders on the perimeter. People forget they played Denver tough the last few games of their series. I think they can be a real threat in the West.”
Before the 2023-24 season started, Timberwolves president of basketball operations Tim Connelly told Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic that Edwards was “primed to have a monster year.” So far, Connelly has been right.

“He’s just a great guy,” Connelly said about Edwards. “And the people around him are great. He loves the city, he loves the organization. He and (coach Chris Finch) have a special bond. He’s a positive teammate, which in this day and age is not always the rule. Sometimes it’s the exception. He’s an uplifter of this entire team, and we couldn’t be more lucky to have him. And I think he’s going to he’s primed to have a monster year.”
