Philadelphia 76ers veteran Marcus Morris told reporters that Joel Embiid is the best player he’s played with.
Morris has played with Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Kyrie Irving and James Harden, but he thinks Embiid is on a different level.
Embiid is one of the top players in the NBA. He won the MVP Award last season and the center will likely be in the running for the award again this season.

In 17 games for the Sixers this season, Embiid is averaging 33.1 points, 11.4 rebounds, 6.6 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.8 blocks while shooting 51.1% from the field, 32.1% from beyond the arc and 87.6% from the free-throw line. The six-time All-Star has 13 double-doubles and one triple-double.
Last night against the Washington Wizards, Embiid went off for 50 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists in 38 minutes of action. The future Hall of Famer shot 19-of-29 from the floor, 1-of-2 from 3 and 11-of-13 from the foul line in the Sixers’ 131-126 win.
“Sometimes your team needs you to be a playmaker,” Embiid said after the game. “Sometimes they need you to score and I felt like it was one of those nights where I had to be aggressive and get it going. But they made passes, they made the right plays every single time and I just finished them.”

The Sixers haven’t gotten past the second round of the playoffs in the Embiid era, which began in 2014-15. It will be interesting to see how far Philadelphia goes in the 2024 postseason.
