The Dallas Mavericks are counting their blessings that Kyrie Irving’s injury on Friday wasn’t more severe. Irving endured a right heel contusion after Dwight Powell collided with his leg during the Mavericks’ victorious game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Initially fearing a more serious outcome, Dallas received a measure of relief when an MRI revealed a bruise in Irving’s right heel. Although the duration of absence for the All-Star guard remains uncertain, the Mavericks are relieved that it won’t be as extensive as initially anticipated.
