“A show stopping crowd pleaser.” Warner Bros has revealed a third & final official trailer for The Color Purple, a cinematic adaptation of the beloved, triumphant musical of the same name. One of the big grand finale films still to open in 2023. We’ve posted two trailers for this already, but a third can’t hurt – especially when this is getting positive reviews so far. Back in 1985, Steven Spielberg directed a non-musical version of this story (also called The Color Purple) which became a Broadway musical that first opened in 2005. This updated take is also based on the musical, arriving in theaters on Christmas Day coming soon. It’s a story of the life-long struggles of an African American woman living in the south during the early 1900s – focusing on two sisters torn apart and their separate lives. The Color Purple features Taraji P. Henson, Danielle Brooks, Colman Domingo, Corey Hawkins, H.E.R., Halle Bailey, with Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor & Fantasia Barrino (in her motion picture debut). What an energetic trailer! Who’s planning to watch this? // Continue Reading ›
