Toyota Yaris Cross
The Taiwanese new car market soars 9.8% year-on-year in November to 43,566 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 11.8% to 433,826. Four of the Top 5 brands outpace the market this month. Toyota (+19.4%) advances to a splendid 30.7% share vs. 26.8% so far this year and Honda (+35.1%) is up to 7.1% of the market vs. 6.2% YTD. Mercedes (+2.4%) is weak but up to #3 while both CMC (+25.1%) and Lexus (+20.3%) are strong. Hyundai (+31.8%) is the only remaining Top 10 brand to beat the market.
Over in the models aisle, the Toyota Corolla Cross (-7.9%) is once again by far the most popular with 8.3% share, this month it distances the Toyota RAV4 (+44.7%) with the Honda CR-V (+40%) and Toyota Town Ace (+75.9%) also in outstanding shape. Launched last month, the Toyota Yaris Cross repeats at #5 above the Toyota Corolla Altis (-6.6%). The Mercedes GLC (+128.5%) and MG HS (+278.1%) also impress below. Another newcomer, the Toyota Crown, is up 13 spots to #28.
