Trucks and muscle cars are deeply ingrained in American culture, but what if you could merge them into a single vehicle? The solution to that intriguing question might just be the Ford Mustang Truck GT-100, an embodiment of a distinctive blend, featuring a heavily modified F100 body with modern underpinnings and powered by a V8 from the fifth-gen Mustang GT.
It all began with the meticulous process of stripping the bodywork from the 2007 Ford Mustang GT donor car, laying the foundation for this unconventional union. The subsequent stage involved skillfully grafting the bodywork of a weathered 1955 Ford F100 directly onto the Mustang chassis. However, this project wasn’t destined to follow the traditional path of a reverse restomod.

The only elements that appear to have been retained from the original F100 truck are the greenhouse, doors, roof, and bed frame, as virtually everything else underwent substantial modifications to adopt a Mustang-like appearance.
A standout feature is the grille and headlights, which were directly sourced from a 2007 Mustang GT, underscoring the true essence of this project. The distinctive splitter, sculpted hood, wide fender extensions, and streamlined windshield cover further enhance the F100’s sporty character, although some might argue it would look even more impressive with a chopped roof. Other noteworthy details include the side intakes, the customized truck bed, and the fixed rear wing.
Unlike most DIY projects that use fiberglass for bodykits and bespoke panels, the exterior of the Mustang truck is entirely made of metal. As a final touch, the unique pickup was painted in a classic blue shade with white stripes, combined with the dark-finished alloy wheels.
Step inside the truck’s cabin, and you’ll immediately notice that the dashboard, steering wheel, instrument cluster, and front seats have all been borrowed from the Mustang pony car. More significantly, the ladder-frame chassis of the original Ford F100 has been replaced with the considerably more modern architecture of the 2007 Ford Mustang GT.

This transformation brings about a significant improvement in ride quality, handling, and performance, effectively turning the classic truck into a sports car. Likewise, the 4.6-liter V8 from the fifth-gen Mustang GT churns out 300 hp (224 kW / 304 PS), outclassing the antiquated Y-block V8 utilized in the third-gen F-Series trucks.
It is not clear if the unique Ford Mustang Truck GT-100 is available for sale, but the owner proudly showcased his build on a Facebook group called Original 306 Truck Club. Commenters seem to be divided about its appearance, but everyone agrees that this truck is a head-turner, especially when you hear the roaring V8.
