The Mahindra Scorpio-N is one of the few midsize SUVs which are equally good over both urban tarmacs and off-road terrains, with it being the only ladder-on-frame SUV with four-wheel drive system on offer in its category. While the overall stance and mechanical hardware of the Scorpio-N gives it the butch appeal it deserves, we have come across an even more intimidating and hardcore version of the SUV – the Mahindra Scorpio-N Stealth Edition.
The Instagram account of “Alpha Renders” has uploaded a few digital renderings of the Mahindra Scorpio-N Stealth Edition, which is a more butch and adventurous-looking imagination of the Socrpio-N SUV. This digital rendering of the Mahindra Scorpio-N gets a host of visual tweaks on the outside, which gives it a dominating look, and the feel of a proper adventure SUV.
The most prominent visual change in the Mahindra Scorpio-N Stealth Edition digital rendering is its matte black paint job, which suits its name by giving it a stealthy look. The vertical slats of the front grille, headlamps and fog lamp surrounds have been blacked out, giving it a de-chromed look. The lower edges of the front grille are attached with auxiliary lamps from Hella, with the Mahindra Scorpio-N Stealth Edition also getting tiny LED auxiliary lights attached over the lower air dam and a hood scoop.
Move towards the sides, and the Mahindra Scorpio-N Stealth Edition begins to appeal even more purposeful with a custom snorkel placed on the right-hand-side A-pillar. The SUV also gets a roof-mounted light bar and a custom roof carriage, while coming equipped with Fuel Zephyr off-road rims with Toyo all-terrain tyres wrapped over them. Here too, the Mahindra Scorpio-N Stealth Edition gets a de-chromed look, with the lower window waistline getting a blacked-out treatment instead of its stock chrome garnish. At the back too, the Mahindra Scorpio-N Stealth Edition has a de-chromed look, though here there are no prominent accessory add-ons.
Can you do similar modifications?
Most of these add-ons shown in the digital rendering of the Mahindra Scorpio-N Stealth Edition here are available as aftermarket accessories, which makes this digital rendering an actual possibility if someone wishes to give his Scorpio-N an exclusive and more rugged look. However, while these chunkier all-terrain tyres might make it easier to hold traction on off-road surfaces, one must note that they can hamper the fuel efficiency of the vehicle over longer highway journeys and even in city commutes.
Such modifications are also legal as they are not doing any structural change to the vehicle itself. The oversized tyres might not be legal though but that completely depends on how the authorities comprehend the rules and laws.
Similar modifications will definitely make the Scorpio-N much more capable in rough terrains, especially because of the off-road spec tyres. But most Indians want to keep their vehicles for dual purposes. For example, the owners of off-road vehicles would want performance on the tarmac to reach the off-road destination. For that, the vehicles need to have dual-purpose tyres that do well on the tarmac and on the off-roading tracks.
Modification laws are very extreme and strict in India. If going for modification job, one needs to ensure that the changes are road legal else police or authorities can issue a fine.
