Tyrese Haliburton was recently named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for his dominant stretch in Week 10 of the NBA season. Over three games from Dec. 25 to Dec. 31, Haliburton led the Indiana Pacers to a flawless 3-0 record. Haliburton averaged an incredible 25.3 points and 17.7 assists on 50.9% shooting from the field with a 42.9% clip from three.
Haliburton made some history with his performances throughout the week. In a Dec. 28 win over the Chicago Bulls, Haliburton became the second player in NBA history to drop at least 20 points and 20 assists without any turnovers. Only Chris Paul, the “Point God” himself, has also achieved the feat.
Two nights later, Haliburton made more history when he dished out a career-high 23 dimes in a 140-126 win over the New York Knicks.

The All-Star point guard joined NBA legends Magic Johnson and John Stockton as one of three players to ever drop back-to-back 20-20 games with points and assists. Haliburton also became the only player in Pacers history with multiple games of 20 assists, and he did it in back-to-back contests.
This season, Indiana’s franchise player has taken the league by storm. In 29 games, Haliburton has notched 24.7 points per game and 12.7 assists per game while shooting 50.1% from the floor and 40.6% from beyond the arc. Haliburton has still never shot below 40.0% from three over the course of a season.
In his first of the two 20-20 games, Haliburton also became the first-ever player in the 3-point era to record 20 points and 20 assists while draining five 3-pointers. In his Dec. 31 press conference, Indy’s electric floor general spoke to Pacers media after ending the week with his second-straight 20-20 game.

“Assists don’t happen without guys making shots,” Haliburton said. “Guys have to make shots for me to get assists, and we’re doing that at a high clip right now. Everybody shot well from three, except for me. 55% from three, 60% from the field … that’s pretty good. Thought we did a good job moving the ball around and guys were making shots.”
In Haliburton’s only other game of the week, he cooked the Houston Rockets for 33 points and 10 assists while going 13-21 from the field and 7-13 from downtown. Simply put, Haliburton had a week to remember.
