“I really don’t like sitting out and watching my teammates battle without me,” Rozier said. He had informed Coach Steve Clifford of his determination to play against the Kings after sitting out the previous night.
Rozier’s contribution and six assists were pivotal in Charlotte’s 36-26 advantage in the final quarter, culminating in a decisive 10-0 run to seal the game. Key performances from Miles Bridges, who scored 27 points, and PJ Washington, who scored 17 points, also contributed to the Hornets’ victory.

Domantas Sabonis added 23 points and 19 rebounds, marking his 15th consecutive double-double, a season-high streak in the NBA. However, his 11 turnovers contributed significantly to Sacramento’s 21 turnovers, a season high for the team.

Kings coach Mike Brown of the Kings lamented the high turnover count, emphasizing its impact on scoring opportunities.
“To have 21 turnovers in a ballgame, especially when the turnovers aren’t forced, it just takes away your opportunity to score,” Brown said.

A crucial moment came when Washington’s dunk in the last minute pushed the Hornets ahead for the first time in the fourth quarter. Cody Martin’s subsequent layup further extended their lead following another Kings turnover.
“It’s not easy to win in this league,” Martin said. “Every time you step on the court, it’s the best talent in the world. So it feels good to start to figure things out. I think we’re starting to collectively figure it out on both sides of the court.”
