Ford Performance Kicks Off the 2024 Motorsports Season, Reveals Mustang GT3 Race Cars via Livestream

Ford celebrated its motorsports season opening by livestreaming the 2024 launch party, which can be watched below. The Ford Performance 2024 motorsports season launch party took place in Charlotte, North Carolina, just a week before the IMSA 24 Hours of Daytona and the much-anticipated Mustang GT3 debut.

Ford Performance invited its lineup of full-time drivers from several racing series niches, including Formula One racer Sergio Perez, DTM and FIA World Endurance Champion Mike Rockenfeller, and Formula Drift driver Vaughn Gittin Jr.

The company also recently revealed the two new Proton Competition customer racing and Dinamic GT Mustang GT3 liveries for the 2024 racing season.

During the kickoff event, Ford Performance also announced the new F-150 Lightning Switchgear and confirmed that its one-make Mustang Challenge series, announced with the seventh-generation Mustang, airs this June with a five-race schedule. Watch below:

Ford CEO Jim Farley reportedly has plans to build seventh-gen Mustang race cars for every track, from the NHRA drag strip to Formula Drift, and all the way to the Nürburgring. The new decal package for the Dark Horse-branded NASCAR Xfinity Mustang was part of the livestream, but what’s even more exciting is the reveal of the 2024 Dark Horse-branded NHRA Funny Car.
