What’s A Makeup Item That’s Trending and You Can’t Understand Why? I’ll go first.
I actually have dozens and dozens of makeup and beauty items that go viral and start trending which I never really understand the hype about them! Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter, E.L.F. Halo Glow Blush, KVD Good Apple Skin-Perfecting Hydrating Foundation Balm, and the list goes on and on and on!
But let’s pick something new! I don’t get the hype around the new E.L.F. Camo Liquid Blush. Whoa, I know. Those are fighting words. Everyone wants a dupe for every single product out there and the E.L.F Camo Liquid Blush slid in and made everyone think Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush. Instantly, this was a dupe for Soft Pinch Liquid Blush. I tried it but I sadly, can’t confirm if it is or isn’t a dupe of Soft Pinch Liquid Blush since I never tried that formula. I will say that the Rare Beauty shades seem more flattering than the E.L.F. ones. I got three shades in the Camo Liquid Blush formula and they’re just garish to me. It’s just way too pigmented and the formula feels like I’m applying paint! I understand there’s a major market for this blush but personally, I don’t understand the hype or why it’s trending.
I have to remind me myself that my opinion isn’t always the same as the rest of the world but I always have this moment with certain items where I’m like, “Why the hell does everyone like this? It’s god awful!” I’m not speaking about the Camo Blush just general makeup trending products. It always puzzles me how GREAT products pass under the radar and ones that aren’t so fabulous end up having these huge viral moments across the Interwebz.
