“Let me guess – you’re gonna threaten me, tell me to get outta town.” Prime Video has revealed the official trailer for the 2024 remake of Road House, the original 80s cult classic that starred Patrick Swayze. This fresh new update stars Jake Gyllenhaal, who heads down to Florida to work at an extremely rowdy “road house” bar. In the original, Swayze went from New York City to the Double Deuce in Jasper, Missouri. In this adrenaline-fueled reimagining, ex-fighter Dalton takes a job as a bouncer at a Florida Keys roadhouse, only to discover that this paradise is not all it seems. This film stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Daniela Melchior, Conor McGregor, and Billy Magnussen, along with Jessica Williams, Darren Barnet, and Conor McGregor. Joel Silver produces yet again, as he did with the original. Even if you do think this does look good, director Doug Liman is protesting the premiere because Amazon promised him a theatrical release and is instead skipping theaters and dropping it streaming only.
