Directed by Alexander Payne, The Holdovers follows a teacher (Paul Giamatti), student (Sessa), and cafeteria administrator (Da'Vine Joy Randolph) at a New England boarding school who are stuck on campus over Christmas break in 1970. The Holdovers received five nominations at the 2024 Oscars, including Giamatti for Best Actor and Randolph for Best Supporting Actress. However, the breakout star of The Holdovers cast is 21-year-old Sessa, who made his film debut as teenage troublemaker Angus.
