Francis Ford Coppola's upcoming film Megalopolis will approach the future in a unique way, putting a twist on the dystopian sci-fi movies of recent years. Films exploring a futuristic world in which humanity has fallen to pieces are a dime in a dozen, and though there are always different ways that this concept can be expanded, the genre is beginning to wear out. In the same family as the dystopian future is the "utopian" future, though movies of this type are typically less-than-positive as well. Coppola seems eager to change this with Megalopolis, his high-risk passion project.
