Oswal said in a Tweet that he is pursuing minimalistic and simple living, which is why he has turned “Desi” now. Oswal further said that he has stopped buying foreign brands when it comes to cars, watches and other luxuries. He further added that he will buy a Mahindra next.
The worldwide spread of the coronavirus back 2020 caused economic challenges for many countries. In response, India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, had urged the use of local products over imported ones, promoting the concept of “Atmanirbhar Bharat.” Since then, Indian-origin manufacturers like Tata and Mahindra started promoting the same. A lot of consumers did chose the Indian-origin products over foreign ones. Oswal seems to be the latest celebrity one to join the bandwagon.
Motilal Oswal Financial Services Limited is a well-known company in India that offers various financial products and services. Mr. Motilal Oswal, the owner of the company, recently purchased a brand-new Tata Safari Dark Edition as his new car.
The Tata Safari Dark Edition, seen in the pictures, appears to be based on the top-of-the-line Accomplished Plus variant. Given the preference for automatic variants among many businesspeople, it seems Motilal Oswal opted for the automatic version of the Tata Safari Accomplished Plus Dark Edition.
Priced at Rs 27.24 lakh, this variant of the Tata Safari is the most expensive one in the lineup. The exterior of the Tata Safari Dark Edition is painted in Oberon Black, with a blacked-out theme for the grille, headlamps, tail lamps, and 19-inch alloy wheels. The interior of the Tata Safari Dark Edition features an all-black theme with black leather upholstery and gloss black touches.
Loaded with features, the Safari Dark Edition includes a 10.25-inch full-TFT instrument console, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, electronically-adjustable and ventilated front seats, wireless charger, 10-speaker JBL audio system, dual-zone automatic climate control with rear AC vents, ambient lighting, air purifier, and more. It is also the only variant in the Safari lineup to have level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and is powered by a 2.0-litre 170 PS diesel engine, similar to the other variants.
In the previous year, both the new Harrier and Safari vehicles underwent testing by Global NCAP, an independent crash test agency based in Germany. Both vehicles received a 5-star rating, indicating excellent safety performance during the crash tests conducted in India. Bharat NCAP, a safety program initiated by the Central Government of India in August 2023, aims to evaluate the safety of passenger cars in the country through rigorous crash tests. Due to the implementation of Bharat NCAP, Global NCAP has decided to discontinue its “Safer Cars for India” initiative, meaning they will no longer conduct crash tests specifically for cars manufactured in India.
