Bradley Beal dazzled with a season-best 43 points against his former team as the Phoenix Suns dominated the Washington Wizards with a 140-112 victory during Sunday’s NBA action.
Celebrating Beal’s memorable 11-season tenure with the Wizards, the crowd welcomed him back with a video tribute and a standing ovation.
Back in Capital One Arena, Beal showcased his prowess by netting 26 points by halftime and concluding his performance with 41 points through three quarters before sitting out the rest of the game.
“I guess I know this gym a little bit,” Beal said.
The Suns saw significant contributions from Kevin Durant and Jusuf Nurkic, each adding 18 points, while Devin Booker contributed 14 points, rounding off a successful seven-game road stretch with a 4-3 record.

The Wizards, missing Kyle Kuzma due to left shoulder soreness, relied on Deni Avdija, who scored 24 points. However, despite a brief competitive phase, Washington could not keep pace with Phoenix’s scoring onslaught. The Suns led by 21 points at halftime, having shot an impressive 69% from the field, and maintained a high shooting efficiency throughout the game, finishing at 61.4%.
Phoenix’s assertive play led to a substantial 32-point lead in the early fourth quarter, bouncing back from their previous loss to Atlanta. Suns coach Frank Vogel highlighted the team’s determination to win the last game of their road trip and support Beal in his return to Washington.
“We had a great disposition because of how we played against Atlanta. None of us were happy with how that game went,” Vogel said. “Our guys came in and wanted to get this last game of the trip, also wanted to get it for Brad. I thought all of his teammates rallied around his homecoming.”

Phoenix’s balanced attack saw 13 players scoring, with Beal leading the charge, complemented by Nurkic’s 13 rebounds and eight assists, showcasing a dynamic and efficient team performance.
“I thought we played the game with an edge that was lacking in Atlanta,” Vogel said. “When you’re getting stops, and you’re playing in the open court, we can be really dynamic offensively.”
