According to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, Spencer Dinwiddie will sign with the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Brooklyn Nets traded Dinwiddie to the Toronto Raptors, who waived the veteran guard.
Dinwiddie attended the Lakers game last night against the New Orleans Pelicans. He sat next to general manager Rob Pelinka.

Dinwiddie was born and raised in Los Angeles. Lakers icon Kobe Bryant was his idol growing up.
The Dallas Mavericks, Pelicans and Philadelphia 76ers were interested in Dinwiddie, who is averaging 12.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.2 blocks this season while shooting 39.1% from the field, 32.0% from beyond the arc and 78.1% from the free-throw line.
Dinwiddie has career averages of 13.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.3 blocks with the Detroit Pistons, Nets, Washington Wizards and Mavericks.
The Lakers are 28-26 on the season. They are in ninth place in the Western Conference standings. If the season ended today, LAL would be in the play-in tournament for the second consecutive year.
Dinwiddie put up 19 points and four assists against the Lakers on January 19 while shooting 5-of-11 overall, 4-of-8 from 3 and 5-of-5 from the foul line. The Nets won by 18 points in LA.
The Lakers didn’t make any trades at the trade deadline. They were linked to Dejounte Murray, Bruce Brown, Dorian Finney-Smith, Royce O’Neale and Andre Drummond.
