Emmy-nominated actor Oscar Isaac, best known for his roles in Inside Llewyn Davis, Ex Machina, the most recent Star Wars trilogy, Dune, Scenes From a Marriage, and Marvel’s Moon Knight, says he would love to return to the role(s) of Marc Spector/Steven Grant/Moon Knight/Mr. Knight/Jake Lockley in the future, possibly in a Midnight Suns project.
Shared on Twitter by @GeekHouseShow, via The Direct/SuperHeroHype, Isaac was attending the Middle East Film and Comic-Con in Abu Dhabi recently when he was asked about what MCU project he personally would like to see Moon Knight show up in one day. He responded, saying:
“I thought there was an interesting opportunity with Midnight Suns. There are just such interesting characters in there. Now that we’ve set the groundwork with learning who Marc, Steven, and Jake — less so — are, it could be an interesting opportunity to see him as a part of a team and what that dynamic would be. I think that’d be exciting. For me, I definitely hope there’s some room to explore that possibility.”
Regarding if he’d consider joining James Gunn and Peter Safran’s forthcoming DCU, Isaac said:
“For me, I don’t have like a hard, fast rule anymore. For me, it’s just about if there’s a great story and if it’s a great opportunity to do something interesting, something different, and something that would excite people. Whether that be DC or anything else.”
In October 2022, Isaac told ComicBook that there have been “specific conversations” about Moon Knight returning for a new Marvel Studios project; however, he was unsure at the time whether it would be a second season of the miniseries or something else entirely.
He also hinted at the time that Moon Knight’s next appearance could be in a “group thing,” such as a Midnight Suns series or movie. “Truthfully, it’s about the story,” he said. “Is there a story worth telling? Is it interesting? Will I feel embarrassed about it when it comes out? So it’s just about, is there something worth pouring everything you have into.”
