The video of this Maruti Suzuki WagonR pickup truck has come courtesy of Bunny Punia from Instagram. As per the post, this particular Maruti WagonR was spotted in Panchkula, Haryana. From the video, we can note that the WagonR has been converted into a pickup truck by cutting off the rear section of the car. The entire frame of the car has been cut from the B-pillar onwards, and the rear seats have also been removed. We can also observe that to isolate the cabin, a partition has been created which also gets a window.
Apart from this, the car from the front is a standard Maruti Suzuki WagonR from 2005. This particular model came powered by a 1061 cc inline 4-cylinder petrol engine that made around 64 bhp and 84 Nm of torque. It came mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The WagonR is Maruti Suzuki’s one of the most successful models, and it has been in production for over two decades. It was launched in India back in 1999, and currently, it is in its third generation.

Is This Legal?
A lot of people might be wondering if this WagonR pickup truck is legal or not. Well, to answer it shortly, it is illegal. In India, any modification including the change of structure or design of a vehicle is deemed illegal. However, as the rules in India are not as stringent, a lot of people get away with these types of modifications. But this is not something that we recommend anyone do because these types of conversions are generally done very poorly and are not safe.

Back in 2021, a video from Pakistan went viral on the internet in which a person created a Suzuki WagonR Limousine. It was reported that this WagonR was given an extra 3 feet and 7 inches to the original length of the vehicle. The final outcome was a limousine measuring 14.5 feet long. It had six doors and was designed to carry around 6 people at a time.
