Kevin Durant is one of the very few athletes in history to sign a lifetime deal with Nike. Already sixteen signature shoes in and with several high-level seasons left in the tank, KD and Nike see no signs of slowing their signature shoe series that has been a go-to for hoopers for nearly two decades.
Kevin Durant’s new signature shoes typically debut late in the NBA season, with KD himself usually rocking the new kicks during the Playoffs. This first look at the Nike KD 17 signature shoe (revealed by @sharkicks1) is arriving on schedule as we anticipate an official debut in April 2024.
This first look at the KD 17 reveals refreshed design inspired by some key footwear models from the 1990s. Right off the bat, the Air Max Plus has some apparent influence via the exterior cage inspired by lava lamps. The midsole design also has some resemblance to the Air Talaria running shoe, albeit without the signature lines that are carved into the foam.
Appearing in this ironically OKC-themed colorway, the Nike KD 17 will most certainly be available in a wide variety of colorways later in 2024, but as stated before, Durant himself will likely debut the shoe on-foot during this season. Stay tuned for more updates.
