Motorsports Gateway Howell, located in Livingston County, Michigan, is slated to become a mixed-use and multi-phase automotive district where motorsports enthusiasts and car lovers can gather for good times. The impressive 273-acre property will be home to twin tracks that can merge into a raceway that’s nearly three-miles long. An automotive innovation park and premium garage condos overlooking the course will also be a part of the members-only facility, which is scheduled for a “soft launch” this summer.
The project is led by Mark and Jordan Dick, a father-son duo. “We’re excited to bring a place for like-minded individuals to be able to come and enjoy their treasured vehicles, connect with like-minded individuals, and just have a place to be,” Jordan Dick told CBS Detroit.
Despite concerns stemming from locals regarding potential traffic issues with the addition of such a large facility, the build progress is on track and has the final green light from the Livingston County Drain Commissioner’s Office. The first phase of the build, which will reportedly focus on the road course, trackside condos, members clubhouse, and a public nature trail, will kick off this spring an accelerate quickly once the remaining winter weather clears. The track will be constructed following Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile safety standards. Two additional phases will add an automotive innovation park and a mixed-use entertainment zone.
“We’re in good shape to get the circuit paved to have a soft open June or July,” Dick told the Livingston Daily.
“Since Jordan and Mark first approached the city with their vision, there has been nonstop momentum and excitement to bring this incredible asset to fruition,” City Manager Erv Suida said in a written statement.
Memberships are currently being offered on the Motorsports Gateway Howell website. The facility plans to sell 150 memberships. The Drivers Club Members initiation fee begins at $35,000 with $7,500 annual dues. Members also have the opportunity to purchase premium garage condos, which will reportedly start at just under half a million dollars.
