Riding or driving on mountain roads is different from riding in the plains. One has to be extremely careful on mountains because roads are often narrow and full of curves. If you are not very experienced, we would recommend maintaining a low speed while driving up or coming down. Also, if you are on a two-wheeler, it is always a good idea to wear safety gear to avoid any injuries in case of an accident. Here we have a video of one such careless scooter rider on a mountain road. He rode the scooter too close to the edge and ended up falling off the road.
The video has been shared by Indian Bikes Forum on Reddit. The video has been shared by one of the users with a caption that reads “New Fear Unlocked”. The video has been recorded on the helmet camera of a bike rider who was riding on the same road. We see a Hero Maestro scooter rider in front of the biker.
The scooter rider looks like a local and is not wearing a helmet or any kind of safety gear. The scooter and the biker approach a curve ahead. The road was broken at this part, and we see the scooter rider moving confidently towards the broken section.
The scooter rider was probably a bit too confident about his skills. He took the scooter to the edge where he probably saw a small stretch without any undulations. As it was a curve, all the loose soil and gravel had accumulated on the inner section of the curve. As the scooter was maintaining a speed above normal, the front wheels lost traction almost immediately after it touched the loose soil. The scooter rider lost balance and applied brakes, which worsened the situation.
He stood up from his seat in a bid to counterbalance the scooter, but it was of no use. The scooter and the rider both fell down the road. It was a steep fall but, thankfully, the rider looked unhurt. The scooter looks damaged, and we are not sure if the rider suffered any minor injuries as the video doesn’t show him rescuing the scooter rider.
It is not clear whether locals helped him get his scooter up or if he called for RSA or a recovery van to get it back. If you notice carefully, the rider was not wearing any kind of safety gear.
He was riding the scooter in a reckless manner (probably trying to show off his riding skills to the biker). The scooter rider fell down along with the scooter from the road. It was easily a 10-feet drop, and the chances of him hitting his head on a rock were pretty high.
He was extremely lucky that nothing like that happened. We see him standing next to the scooter, which means he is probably safe.
This video shows how important it is to stay alert while driving or riding on mountain or hilly roads. If the scooter rider had been a bit more careful and not ridden too close to the edge, this accident wouldn’t have happened.
