Apple just announced the new Apple Arcade games for May 2024, and they are all App Store Greats. Alongside the three App Store Greats, many notable games on the service will be getting big content updates. The highlight of the month is definitely the superb deckbuilding roguelike Dicey Dungeons+ () if you haven’t already played it. Read my 5/5 review here and our Game of the Week feature on it here. I love it and think Distractionware is one of the best developers out there in game quality after VVVVVV, Super Hexagon, and Dicey Dungeons. A Slight Chance of Sawblades+ from Singaporean solo developer Yong Kian Chin joins the service as well as an App Store Great with no in app purchases. The final addition is the beach paradise adventure match-three puzzler Summer Pop+. Watch the Dicey Dungeons trailer below:
I’ve not played Summer Pop at all, and haven’t played much of A Slight Chance of Sawblades yet so will check them out when they arrive alongside Dicey Dungeons on May 2nd. The updates will begin from next week with Hello Kitty Island Adventure getting the Imagination Celebration in-game event, Sonic Dream Team adding a brand-new Sweet Dreams Zone, Synth Riders bringing in a new music pack, Game Room adding Checkers, and other updates coming to games including WHAT THE CAR?, Disney SpellStruck, and the recently released Puyo Puyo Puzzle Pop.
