De Bruyne’s 15-yard header keeps the Premier League title race alive
The Belgian midfielder scored a stunning header in the 17th minute in a must-win game for Manchester City tonight against Brighton. The goal kickstarted City’s three-point grab, putting them one behind table-leading Arsenal with still a game in hand.
Right-back Kyle Walker dribbled to the flank before crossing it to De Bruyne for the exquisite diving header into the top corner. The goal wasn’t as impressive as the 2014 FIFA Puskas Award finalist brought to you by Robin Van Persie—that one required unreal timing, trajectory, and neck muscles—but the Flying Belgian’s strike deserves similar praise.
The strike was also De Bruyne’s first header in the Premier League, giving him 20 goals and assists in all comps in a season he missed half of due to injury.
