President Joe Biden made a gaffe at a podium, incorrectly identifying WNBA superstar Candace Parker as a “coach.” The flub occurred during a ceremony at the White House celebrating the Las Vegas Aces’ 2023 championship.
Biden attempted to praise Parker, who was unable to attend, but misspoke by referring to her as a coach.
“While she couldn’t be here,” he said of the newly retired Ace, “I want to acknowledge someone who we consider one of the greatest all-time coaches – Candace Parker.”
