BYD sales are up 11-fold year-on-year in April.
5,224 new light vehicles found a buyer in Uruguay in April, that’s 37.2% year-on-year improvement and the highest monthly gain this year so far. Chevrolet (+75%) doubts the market growth to 16.8% share, level with its YTD figure of 16.9%. Fiat (+38.8%) matches the market at #2 while Hyundai (+94.4%) shoots up to #3, a ranking it now also holds year-to-date vs. #5 last month. Renault (+3.4%), Suzuki (-3.5%) and Volkswagen (-2.2%) underperform below. BYD (+1025%) skyrockets to #8, its highest ranking since June 2016 (#7). Among Chinese brands, Victory (+420%), Geely (+257.9%) and Chery (+117.6%) also impress.
