Another month, another Ipsy Glam bag! I have to say, now that I have less PR coming in and no other subscription boxes, I really enjoy it when the I get my notification that my Ipsy bag has shipped! I feel like this is what it should have felt like back when I was subscribed 10 years ago!

Reina Rebelde | Sirena Palette

Now, before the Ipsy bags ship out, you get a sneak peek of what might be in your bag and you are allowed to choose ONE item that will be guaranteed to be in your bag. I actually didn’t realize this last month so it truly was a random assortment of products that was chosen for me, but THIS month I paid attention and went to the Ipsy website to choose my one guaranteed item which was THIS gorgeous palette from Latina company Reina Rebelde!

The shadows can be used wet or dry and as you can see from the swatches above, there is tons of pigmentation and flexibility for day or night and from spring to summer eye looks! I received the full size of this palette which was $26 USD.

Sutra | Volumizing and Thickening Creme

I like trying out new hair products and though I had never heard of the brand Sutra, after looking up a few details about them, they seem to be experts on hair styling tools and the products that will protect hair from heat and have you look like you’ve had a blowout. This volumizing cream is intended to be distributed throughout the hair from root to tip on damp or dry hair and then styled. I actually didn’t really see any difference in my hair and I have used volumizing products before that work instantly after I blow dry my hair. I think I will just use this on the ends of my hair when curling and that will be it as it did not weigh down my hair at all. I cannot find the name of this exact product on the Sutra website and the closest thing I can see is the Leave-In Cream so I will base my cost calculation on that. I received a deluxe travel size of 30mL which retails for about $3.43 USD.

Ciate | Everyday Vacay Hydrating Face Primer

I haven’t tried too much in the way of makeup from Ciate as I am more familiar with them through nail polish, but I was looking forward to trying out this primer! The texture was a little bit watery and the colour of the primer completely clear which actually caught me off guard as I was expecting a creamier consistency. The one thing I actually was not a fan of, but is probably what gives this product its name is the scent. It is a STRONGLY overwhelming fake coconut scent that I suppose makes you feel like you are on some tropical getaway, but it was not for me. I received a deluxe sample of 10mL that retails for $10 USD.

Luna Magic | Soft Perfection Foundation Powder in Medium

Yet another brand I have not heard of (yay!) and when I first swatched the Luna Magic foundation, I was amazed at its softness on my skin, but when I finally tried it on my skin I really did not see much of a change. I still had redness on my cheeks which usually even the lightest coverage foundations take away. I wanted to enjoy this foundation more than I did. I received a deluxe sample that retails for $17.50 USD.

Whats Up Beauty | Egyptian Queen Lipstick in Ankh

I know Whats Up Nails from their awesome nail decals and I had seen that they moved into the beauty space, but with their shipping to Canada it just didn’t seem worth it for me so I was excited to see a lipstick from Whats Up Beauty in my Glam Bag! This is a soft matte lipstick infused with hyaluronic acid, vitamin E and silk oil to create a buttery soft lipstick. The colour was sort of deep rose which looked more like a deep orange on me, but I still liked it (photo below). The embossing on the top of lipstick disappeared after the first use which was sad, but it was a nice touch. I received a FULL SIZE which retails for $23 USD.

Final verdict: Factoring in the exchange rate, this month’s Glam Bag came out to $109.28 CDN which is obviously much more than the $27 CDN that I paid which included shipping. I really liked most of the products especially the eyeshadow palette so I would say this month’s bag was a win for me along with the garden-themed cosmetics pouch.
